SAT Writing

My lowest score in the SAT is the writing part. I did well on the essay. I recieved an 11 which is decent right? However i only got a 670. I did not get a single identifying sentences question wrong, but got 10 improving sentences wrong. I took the SAT frosh year also and then i only got one improving sentence wrong, but got like 11 identifying sentence errors wrong. Help why is this happening? Why can i only get one type of questions right on test day? I usually get 5-6 right on the paragraphs.

Both types of questions are testing your grammar, just in different ways. It's weird that most of your errors either appear in one section or another, though. Maybe it's because you had mostly been prepping with the other kind of questions?

With Writing, I would analyze each question itself to find out what kind of things you're getting wrong. It's not like "identifying sentence errors" tests your verbs while "improving sentences" tests your prepositions. They both test all areas of grammar. My advice is to, well, study the grammar.

(Btw, 11(/12) is good. That means if you get everything right or miss 1 in MC, you'll still most likely get an 800. High five!)
