Sat

Hi I just viewed my sat scores. I am an A student in school and I keep getting around a 1700 on the SATs. I have taken them 2 times and I can only write them 1 more time. I really need some help on to improve my scores. I am doing pretty well in math but I need help in CR and Writing. I did practice a little but my CR score is always 500. I want to get up atleast to a 650 or 700. Any suggestions??? Please help. I am willing to practice as much as possible with the tips you provide me. I am willing to work hard but i just don't know what to do.

Try going to a local bookstore or Amazon and picking up an SAT Preparation Book. Focus on the Reading and Writing sections if you’re short on time.

Studying latin/greek roots can help too, because you only need to know the meaning of one root to apply it to many, many words you may encounter in the test.

The stickies in the SAT Prep section are always useful, aswell.

Don’t read the passages until you have to, like when it asks for the mood or tone. Just go to the line it mentions, read, and answer the question. Try it, you’ll see, it works(:

@erinsdad Thank You so much!!! I now have a plan set up on what to do. I was always taking tests as a whole and i never really went back and reviewed any of them. Xiggi doesn’t really talk about how to preapre for the vocab part of the CR. This is the part i usually don’t do well on. If you have any suggestions for this please let me know.

Buy both volumes of Direct Hits for the vocab. I went from getting ~6 words wrong on my first SAT to 0 on my second after learning every word in those books.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve for the Vocab section of the CR please let me Know!!! Please, I struggle with the vocab. memorizing them hasn’t really help me. IS there any other way to study for them??
