Sat......

Ok less than a week till December SAT. This will be my first SAT ever. I have a problem...I don't know if it's just me or what. I have a problem of sleeping right before something really big whether for the good or bad. I slept really bad before the PSAT and don't think I did as well as i thought I could. Any suggestions on getting a good night sleep right before the SAT?

Also Usually, which section is the Experimental section? And is it math or reading always? or could Writing be part of the Experimental Section?

no it switches..... try to fall asleep early/take a bath/read a book/do homework/ dont stresssss

it happens... ur not the only one suffering from this problem... i too couldnot sleep before my SAT test.... my suggestion to u is just dnt think much about the test...watch movies, listen to songs and ya go off to sleep as early as 9pm...and dnt study on the day before the test.. dat will really help u bust stress...just remain calm.. dats it.....

if you need to study before the test though, definitely study because cramming in vocabulary words at the last minute can help...i got my score up that way

relax, the SAT isnt a staged performance or anything. Don't try to cram the last day. If you feel that you really need to study, do a practice test or two.
I usually sleep early the night before a test so I wake up refreshed

Remember you can always re-take the test. Well, that is, if you aren't a senior. good luck

I'm a junior. I think im going to start cramming Vocab this week then. I'll print out a list of SAT words and look through them while walking to school or whenever. I do listen to music when going to sleep, calm soothing usually. One problem I have is I kind of just daydream and start talking to myself about my life and future... and what I have to do... I feel wierd lol.

Do everything you would normally do on a Friday afternoon/night. Try to eat healthy the night before--don't change your whole diet--but avoid drinking soda and too much candy, and instead drink a lot of water. Go to bed early, but not too early because that will get you even more nervous staying awake. Just do everything you would normally do and make sure to have a little fun (watch a movie, do some hobby or whatever).

Good luck! :)

drink tea with no caffein an hour or two before going to bed
get in your jammies early and just realx
breathe

"Do everything you would normally do on a Friday afternoon/night."

That might not be a good idea...

hahaha, ok koolcrud, that could be true, depending on what you normally do every Friday night. Basically, my point is to not shake up your schedule too too much because that will just cause more anxiety.

I'd suggest to cram this week but stop by Thursday night. On Friday, don't even touch that list of vocab words. I remember I couldn't sleep well either my first SAT, but since you're a junior, think of it this way: you have a least 6 more test dates to retake it.

It might help to do some physical activity Friday afternoon to work out the nerves and to make you tired enough to sleep the second you hit the sack. Or read a book.
