Satellite Campus

I applied to Penn State University Park, but much to my dismay, I was only offered admission to a satellite campus. Obviously, after two years I can go to University Park, but can somebody explain how that works? (what conditions have to be met, what classes i take where, can i go to main after only 1 year, etc). Also, after one or two years at a satellite campus, can I apply as a transfer student to other universities?

My son too, he is accepted to Berks campus. How about you?

You may find part of the answer from the following in Berk campus’ website.

[Penn State Berks: Answers for Parents](http://www.bk.psu.edu/answers.htm?cn33=&cn33#QA25744)

Q: When will my child need to “transfer” to University Park campus?

We never use the term “transfer” to describe the process of relocating from one campus location to another. That’s because at Penn State University, every campus location is equal. Every credit earned at a campus is equal to credits offered at University Park, and students who begin their studies at a campus location are on equal footing with their counterparts at University Park when it comes to Entrance to Major in the junior year.

At Penn State, the process of relocating from one campus to another is called Change of Location, and this typically takes place after completing the first two years of full-time study toward a baccalaureate degree. Change of Location requests submitted prior to the completion of two years of study are only granted in extreme cases in which the student would not be able to meet the curricular requirements of the choosen major.

Further, as far as i understand it, conditions to be met include:
minimum GPA, pre-requisite courses with minimum grades.
