I didn't do so well on the May SAT, so I have decided to try out the ACT. The problem is that some of the schools that I will be applying to require the SAT II's, so I'm kind of nervous that it might ruin my chances, because the colleges will be able to see my SATII scores along with my bad SAT I score (most likely). When they see it in the score report, will colleges still consider my bad SATI scores, even though I plan to send the ACT scores??? Thanks in advance!!!

most colleges say they take the whichever score is higher, so even if they see both they are gonna count your ACT... also some schools that require SAT IIs drop some of their SAT II requirements if you submit the ACT... so check the school website for each individual school's policy...

if they're somewhat similar at all, they'll count the higher one. But if you get a 35 on your ACT and a 1200 on your SAT, that might raise some eyebrows.

bump.......

Yeah, I was wondering about the raising of some eyebrows, because there is a big difference between my math and critical reading scores, but I know that on the ACT my math will definitely go up. Thanks for the replies so far!

If there is a big difference of scores, they may just think you either did more study of the subject matters (nothing wrong with that) or were sick the day of the low scores.

sigh of relief I'm glad that colleges will take into consideration only the ACT (if it is higher), without unconsciously penalizing me for the not-so-great SAT scores. Thank you all for the replies!!
