Well, i have to say, I was ver surprised when I saw that I got a 680. Based on what we all talkd about after the test, I felt like I was headed for around 740. Does hand scoring make sense? I mean, does anyone ever do better after having it hand scored? It's probably my fault, but at lesat it would put my mind at ease. I'll definitely be retaking this one. How did everyone else do?

Abysmal.

It was harder than any AP practice or any SATII practice exams I have ever taken, and apparently the curve was not any more generous than it normally is. Retaking in Nov...

Yeah. The thing that worries me is that I thought I was correct on so many of them so that must mean that I'm just thinking about it the "right" way

After taking the March Lit, I felt pretty good...ended up with a 670, when I was thinking mid to high 700's.

This past test however, I thought was much tougher, and was definitely a disaster. If I hadn't taken IIC, I would've canceled it. I told ppl it could've been in a different language and it wouldn't have mattered.

Ended up with a 710. Pretty happy.

What did the first two posts ^ get?

aab, your score less ninety. (My ego can't take writing it out.)

The thing is the night before, I took the 22 Real practice and made a solid 750. Okay, I'm good...no.

I'm good at Lit; I really am. And I'm sure I made a five on AP English Language. I think it was just a random fluke for me. I have to keep thinking that.

I didn't do any prep and didn't even know what the format was like, but I was pressured into taking it the night before (to get 3 sat IIs). I thought I completely bombed it (as in 500-600 range). I broke down during the test and guessed so much. I was about to cry after it.

I got a 690... it's still a bad score... but still... what a happy shock

720

I went in blind, which was so incredibly stupid that I was near panic attack last night. I did no prep except the question on CB, and I'm not in AP. (I'm an IB-er, which is a little less rigid and a lot less intense, IMO.)

Seriously, though, I don't know what that means. Should I retake when I take US History next fall? I'm not gonna be an English major, but I am a writer applying for some scholarship programs. It's my only score under 750...

It was such a weird test though. I hated the implicit analysis in one of the poems b/c I disagreed entirely with it.

I thought the literature test was pretty easy; definitely easier than US History, which was the other test I took. I got a 710 for lit, and I'm happy with it. I did absolutely no preparation whatsoever, so I think it turned out just fine.

I ended up with a 650... which really sucks but I guess I deserved it since I did zero prep and decided to take the test the night before.

Did anybody do prep? I just took it at the last minute and got a 680, which is pretty good for never taking a literature class or practice test.

i have a question... this test is based mainly on the AP Literature class, right? because in my school juniors take AP language and we dont take AP Lit until we're seniors. i didnt realize that this test had anything to do with a class i wont be taking till next year lol (yes, a rather unpleasent surprise if i'm thinking about this correctly) and i wound up with a 630 cringe although i was expecting something in the 400s haha. so needless to say, i am retaking this next year lol. but what i want to know is if it's really based off the AP Lit class and thats why i did so poorly, or if i'm just really stupid lol

My son will be a high school senior in the fall -- will take AP Lit then.
He prepped for SAT II Lit and received a very low grade -- hopefully he'll retake it in the fall sometime.

AP Lang and Comp will prepare you for all of the prose passages, but the class doesn't cover any poetry. I think i did well on all of the prose passages, but the poetry part took advantage of me.

It seemed to me that this test didn't correspond with any class. I won't be taking AP lit until next year, but the test still went okay. I think it's more a common sense-type thing. It's much like the critical reading section on the SAT Is.

Most of the premise of SAT II's are ridiculous. ETS "recommends" that you take them after a year of AP in the subject. YEAH RIGHT -- it is nearly impossible at many schools (including mine) to be in AP Any of those subjects as a junior. I took Chemistry after a year of honors and got a 670, and I'm quite proud of it.

No prep. 730. Got 760 on SAT I section. Used to be my strongest point (80 on soph. PSAT). Now my weakest (2340 overall SAT I, 800 Math IIC and US History). Go figure.

I wasnt going to share my score but I will to make everyone feel better about their own. i got a 640....no prep. I thought I did better...oh well. I just want t osee what percentile that is.

I didn't do much prep outside of studying for the SAT I CR. I did, however, have two years of lit classes behind me.

To be perfectly frank, I don't feel too terrible about my score. After reading the 'official lit' threads, I felt doomed for a 500. 680 is a relief. Besides, it's in the 70's something percentile. True, it may not be high enough for Harvard, but I still beat out the majority of test-takers. And then I think about how most of those test-takers probably were over-achievers w/ top schools in mind... not dumb-a$$es like me only taking it to make my sub tests a cool triplet... and somehow that makes me feel even better about my score.

(lol Hey, whatever mental gymnastics to ease the pain of a 680...)

for those who did prep, which books do you recommend

no prep. 800.
