I've been taking practice tests for SATII math in both Ic and IIc. If I get around a score of 730 on the Math IC and around a 700 on the Math IIC, which should I take? Is it better to take the IIC because its considered a harder test, or should I take the IC because its a better score and its a much better percentile (93rd vs. 58th)?
Thanks in advance.

If they're in Barron's, then don't worry. Their math books are a lot harder than the actual test.

Take Math IIC. They say people who are well qualified for IIC and take IC don't do very well. Then again, people who aren't qualified for IIC usually aren't qualified for IC either, so they don't do very well. Basically, nobody does very well on IC (less than 1% get above 770). A 730 on IC implies that your competency in Algebra II is comparable to your competency in Precalculus if you get a 700 on IIC. If you were 10 years old, you'd want a B in 4th grade over a B in 3rd, especially since you're in 5th.

By the way, technically they're called Math 1 and 2 now. Since there hasn't been a Math I (with no calculator, as opposed to IC) option for a while, there's no need to keep the C at the end of each name.

I'm not sure what you should do. I took both tests...

If you're prepared for both then you might as well take both on the same day, unless you're really pressured to fit in the tests you need to get done. It only costs another $8 or something to do another test once you've paid registration fees etc.

Take the Math IIC. The curve is much more generous.

On the ic, if you get a single quetion wrong, you can't get an 800. On the iic, you can get around 5 questions wrong (or leave around 6 or 7 blank) and still get a perfect score.
