Hey there,
I am a Junior currently in AP Calculus AB who can't decide whether to take the SAT II MATH IIC. Last year I took Pre-Calculus for 1 semester, do you think this will suffice? I am pretty good at straight forward algebra, trigonometry, and know how functions work. However, I did not learn how to solve Matrix problem. FYI I had a 95 in Pre- Calculus and currently have a 90 average in AP Calculus. Also, will the sparknotes IIC test be enough to prep? Thanks in advance!!

Yes, with a little preparation, you should do fine.

Matrices aren’t a huge part of the test. You might see one or two problems involving them. In fact, I didn’t even see one matrix question on my test. (Barron’s Math II prep books seem to give you some very difficult matrix practice though.)

Oh, I see. Do you think if I study and take the test on June that I will get higher than a 700? I don’t think I will buy any prep books for math IIC, I already wasted a lot of money for AP US and SAT I.

Well, we don’t know your abilities. But many students with solid preparation in pre-calculus concepts get 800’s with no test-specific preparation.

Oh okay thanks!!
