SATII Math Scores - Math1 770, or Math2 750?

Hi,

MIT allows you to send either Math 1 or Math 2. They claim they do not care which one you send, and simply ask it to be a representation of your math work at school. I am currently in IB Math HL 2 (Advanced Calculus) and intend to major in computer science at MIT. The reality is that I had a REALLY bad testing experience taking these exams, and honestly, I forgot a lot of the math I did 3+ years ago. I have had straight As in math for the couple years.

What should I do?

Send Math 1
Send Math 2
Report one, send both, send an email.

Thanks!

You’ve completed Pre-Calc/Trig, so send Math 2.

I would send in the Math 2. While a slightly lower score, it’s well understood that the Math 2 exam is the more challenging exam and thus, any score above a 750 on that Math 2 is great and worthy to be sent in. Congrats on the score.

If the cost doesn’t bother you, the best option may be to send both. Additional context/information probably helps the admissions decision crew, but I’m not sure.

I think you should send both if you can. Why not? They’re both fantastic scores.

Send Math 2. Anything in the 700s is a solid score, and Math 1 is for chumps.

I vote for sending both, the cost is the same.

@nw2this Unless they were taken at different dates

@ManaManaWegi

Even if they were taken on different dates, there is still only one price to send all SAT scores unless you take a test, pay, then test again after you paid for the first test.

For ACT, you pay separately for each test date, but not for SAT.

@nw2this Oops, sorry :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks everyone, I ended up sending both and self-reporting Math 2 :slight_smile:
