SATII Submission.

So guys. Got a situation here. I'm applying to Stanford regular decision this year, and am looking to submit 2 SATII's, Math 790 and US History 740. However, the fact of the matter is that I took another SATII on a whim, and scored absolutely terribly. (Think high 500s)

The Stanford Undergraduates Admissions Website states that

[quote]
Applicants must self-report and submit all SAT scores OR all ACT scores. Applicants cannot elect to use the College Board's Score Choice or elect to "hide" any scores with either testing agency. The only exception to this rule would be tests taken for the purpose of talent programs in middle or junior high school (e.g. Johns Hopkins Center for Talent Youth, Duke University's Talent Identification Program, etc.). Those test scores do not have to be sent to Stanford. Applicants may also selectively submit whichever SAT Subject Test scores they choose, as those scores are not required for admission.

From the above, it's clear that I can SELECTIVELY SUBMIT whichever SATII's I want to, which would prompt me to just submit my math/history scores.

However, as I've heard from my counselors and today a Stanford Admissions officer that came to my school, you must submit all scores of everything you've ever taken, including AP tests, SATII's, whatever. The officer specifically said everything. You may not use College Board's score choice option, he said.

So who do I believe? Does anyone have any experience with only sending some of their SATII scores? I really, really do not want to send such a dismal test score.

Thanks in advance!

Calluos, in the case of a direct conflict like this between what the admissions website states and what a representative says at your school, I think it’s best to call the Admission Office and ask them. Mention the conflicting information that led to your call, which will help you get an authoritative person on the line to resolve it. I believe the website correctly reflects their policy on subject tests, and that the rep was mistaken in including them in his statement about Stanford’s (non)score-choice policy, but best to call and make sure.

The admissions officer for my region told me I was free to choose what SATIIs I wanted to send, so you don’t have to submit the bad score.

I agree, this is what I would do. I know that Stanford requires ALL scores for the SAT, but i’m no so sure about the SAT II as it’s not required.

Stanford requires the SAT I. They don’t require the SAT IIs with it. So wouldn’t it follow that one can send all SAT I scores and then pick and choose which SAT IIs to send since they’re not a requirement?
