RETAKE? I have already received a score of 680 on the May sitting,
and a 5 on the APUSH, but i want sth better than that 680.
I'm already registered for the Oct. test date and know I can't get over
750+ but somewhere around 700-730s. ( I feel a bit unprepared, i haven't extensively stuided for it until now)

No, I don't plan on retaking it because I've been swamped with work lately, and I don't think I will have enough time to actually sit down and study for it to improve my score.

Even though I love US History, I don't think I can do much better on the SAT II because I thought the SAT II was harder than the AP test. If you think that you can do significantly better with a little prep, you should retake it. Make sure you have time to study though because an extra 20-30 points probably wouldn't make a HUGE difference to the college admissions people...

My friend retook a 690 and got a 670 the second time. o_O;;

wow..i'm more shifted toward not taking it again given that
i have so much frikkin much to do..u think 680 to 710 is not that of a drastic
improvement (i.e. not worth retaking)?

I wouldn't. Colleges will see you took it again and only improved 30 points. They'll think you wasted your time and money for basically nothing.

About 17-20 I believe. I think taking a month after the AP test was the best way to go about it. I got 5 and then 760. You just have to had read (and retained) most of American Pagent.

mikenthemaddog66: Thanks for your prompt reply. Actually, I know I shouldn't expect much, since I'm an international student, never take a US His course before and even don't have any prep book. Just pore over Sparknotes online. Still, one day left before the test, do you recommend memorizing or reviewing anything speical ? ^.^
