I will be applying to UC's and Cal Poly. Would not submitting any SAT II tests affect admissions? I didn't do very good on either test I took. I also don't want colleges for example, seeing my horrible lit subject test, but then seeing I got an A in ap English and think that the class must be really easy because it wasn't. It was just more writing based then reading passages and answering questions.

I doubt SAT Subject Tests hold the same, possibly ‘make-or-break’ weight as do the normal SATs. But still, it’s a plus to have, and many/most other competitive applicants will probably have great SAT IIs. So is it TRULY important? No. But should you have them to remain as much competitive as possible? Yeah, big time.

Frankly, you have the whole summer until the October SAT date to study for any 2 (or more) SAT IIs and do well on them. I’d take advantage of your time and study away.

Bump. Any other opinions?

SAT II Tests are required for CalTech (Math II and an addition science), while they would help greatly if you apply to UC. You still have time to take these test in the fall and I recommend that you should. If you don’t take the tests for CalTech, then you automatically would not be able to get it.
