Satirical Flair on Short Answer Question 1?

Would it be frowned upon by NU adcoms if I put a satirical flair on the "If you could pose for a formal oil portrait in the style of Hans Holbein's The Ambassadors, what possessions would surround you and why?" question? Would it be seen as.. this kid is a lunatic, reject him!, what a creative dude, accept him!, or would it depend on the specificity of the object and how you write?

For example, poking fun at the college admissions process..

suggestion would be no, satirical may not appear satirical in the eyes of adcoms, especially if its not perfected

Bah o well, a little too big of a risk to take :(

What the hell kind of application question is that, haha.

it's definitely the last option, with clarification in that it would probably be a bad idea unless it was very well-done

what if i made one small typo?

^^ no big deal, i did it too on my app and didn't realize until afterwards. Also, my parents went to a conference at my sister's high school where a northwestern rep spoke, and they handed out two sample applications, one who was accepted and one who wasn't, and my mom said the accepted app had typos, and it was even an app to the journalism school, while the non-accepted app had no typos but the recommendations weren't as good and my mom told me she suspected that's why one was accepted over the other: the app with typos in the essays had extremely good recs

wow, thanks for the quick reply. fingers still crossed!
