SATs admission value in regards to GPA

I'm a transfer (international) student looking to transfer to a US college. My first two choices however happen to be my reaches (Stanford and Yale).

Now in terms of ECs, recommendation letters and miscellaneous, I believe myself to be a very competitive candidate. I consider myself to be a very good writer, having been published, so I think my essays will be very good as well. Plus I'm a URM so there's that. =)

My only problem lies in my academics; they're a bit average. 3.7/4.3 college GPA and B- high school student to be exact. Now I've been preparing the SATs like a madman and practice runs range me at about 2200-2350 with them still being two months away. My question is....can scores like these "make up" for my other academics?

How are SAT scores judged/valued in regards to the GPA?

Transfer students from another college may encounter different issues from high school students applying as freshmen. (I would guess that college grades matter the most for transfer students.) See
