SAT's and College

I am looking into Colleges/Universities and taking my SAT's in December. On Collegeboard.com their is a requirement of what scores are needed, if I get below them, but my GPA and academic grades are really good, Do I still have a chance of getting into the College/University?

haha why do you put an apostrophe after SAT? An apostrophe denotes possesion. oh and your question is unclear, no college has a minimum score requirement.

Yeah, I always felt that it was unnecessary to put an apostrophe after something like that, but I guess you actually can do that (ex. he got three A’s and two B’s vs. he got three As and two Bs).

JJJJ is right; to my knowledge College Board doesn’t give min. score requirements, just a score range. If you get below the range, you can still try. It might be less likely that you’ll get in, but you never know, and you always hear that scores aren’t everything.

If you are referring to the middle 50% ranges of scores that CB puts on its site for colleges, then having lower than that range means you have a test score that is below the scores made by 75% of the persons admitted. It does not mean you have no chance, and a high GPA will help, but usually you should assume that your chances of admission are fairly low.

Colleges look at many elements of your application file. Do your best to make everything else look good if your scores are barely within range, but apply to any college you are truly interested in and see what happens. There is more advice in the “tips” thread mentioned in my signature below.
