my sat scores are 1510 out of 2400 which is a 1010…i know, uh oh haha
i dont think i am taking them again though since im majoring in musical theatre
do you know if emerson will accept you if your sats are low, but u broke the 1000, they loved your audition, you have great extra cariculars, great letters, and a good gpa (3.3)? Thanks!

You must be accepted academically at Emerson separate and apart from being accepted to a specific audition based program. They are seperate processes and you can be accepted to one but not the other. Your GPA and SAT's must be competitive in their own right.

What MichaelNKat is saying is 100% true, and important. However, the process is not completely separate. While the school may accept, and the program may reject, if the program REALLY wants a student, and the school is a little iffy, there may be a chance for admittance. However, if the program wants you, and the school flat out says not, there's no chance. The school admissions people and the program admissions people review applications separately, but upon auditioning, the program admissions people will look at your academic stuff, and take it into consideration when accepting you, denying you, fighting for you, or not depending upon whether or not and how much they want you, and what amount of trouble they are willing to go through to get you.

So, most important question…Does the school know whether or not you’ve been accepted to the Program while reviewing your Application!!!

ANSWERASAP. Thanks!

I would guess no. My D was accepted a few years back before she auditioned. I imagine the 2 acceptances have nothing to do with one another initially.

My daughter was also accepted academically before she auditioned and she had applied reg decision, not EA.

My son received his academic acceptance before he was accepted into the MT program.

Question: Do SAT and ACT scores help LESS when applying to MT than they would if applying normally? I have pretty good scores for both, but I was wondering if they’re even going to help me at all.

hopefulMT, I was wondering the same thing when I opened this thread. Does anyone know?
