that was really stupid. bad cheater=bad student; good cheater=good student. that's why u see some ppl going to good colleges and some don't

I saw this one girl taking the SAT and she was using her calculator on the "english" section and when i asked her about it after class she said that she is a slow worker in math and after she finished her reading she went back to her math. That really buggz me..cause i had to rush to finish my math..and i didn't cheat!

Pinky,
You should have reported her. The thing that allows evil and unethical behavior to continue is when good people don't speak up.

Bump

lol

This kid at my h.s. a few years ago was a pretty smart kid but he was a big slacker..the kid has a 1590 but his GPA was like a 2.0 because he didn't care about school. Another kid at my school a relatively smart kid (top7% or so, etc.) who was just bad at standardized tests payed this slacker kid $500 to take the SAT for him...plus he payed to get an ID made for the test taker. The kid ended up getting a 1580 and got into harvard, yale, and princeton.

btw no one found out until after he had been admitted to all these places

c'mon, its the sat II's. I took two of them in may and i spent half an hour per test. I fell asleep after i finished actually and the proctor had to wake me up. I still got a 770 and a 790. If you really need to cheat on that test, then you have some problems...

bern700, how did people find out? did the college he got accepted to find out?

Comeon Noel - dontcha know? Whenever someone tells a story about their "friend" cheating on their SAT...you know who the "friend" represents...don't you?

It's like, for example, someone saying "I know this...friend...you see...with uh...a rash in their..." etc.

I'd rather put in some extra effort than fork over 500 big ones.

Then again, I'm cheap.

If you cheat to get into a college, really, being accepted would mean nothing.

Here is the thing about the original cheater, if he did everything right, he would probably get away with his plan. I doubt the College Board gets different piles of tests or anything and if he left the second test blank, how would they know. Have you found out if he actulyl got away with this.

bump

please

What test would he need two hours on?

It'd be obvious if it were the math test because he'd have his calculator out and be writing all over the test booklet... unless he registered for both math tests, then maybe that'd work.

also, as for the girl having her calculator out on the english section, how did the prefect not catch that one?

one message: don't cheat

sweet html

"also, as for the girl having her calculator out on the english section, how did the prefect not catch that one?"

-I thought people work on different sections throughout the test?

yeah, but at least when i was taking it the prefects used to walk around and check which one you were doing, i think they should notice a calculator on your desk.
