This must have been mentioned in an earlier thread but I would like to know if I can take the SATs in October and still be okay for EA? And I assume November is a definite no? Thanks.

Yes October is fine. November will be iffy, but if you rush your scores you are probably ok.

That's good. What do you mean by "rush your scores?"

Does anyone know?

Rushing your scores gets them to the college in two business days once they're available, not the three to five weeks it normally takes (according to CB). The charge for this service is an additional $25 or so per report.

Oh, good. I didn't know that was an option and I will definitely do that. Thanks.

Except I have heard from a LOT of colleges that rushing scores only gets them there a few days sooner than normal. So honestly, I don't know that it is worth the money.

Some colleges actually recommend not to rush test results. Check with each college you are applying to. Some, like MIT, say on their websites that they will take the November test for EA applicants.

Why would the college not prefer they be rushed? Wouldn't be easier for them?
