Basically, our school has a program where kids who get cut slips, forget to return overdue library school, get 3 tardies, etc go to a "saturday school" that runs from 8-12 on saturdays where they basically have to sit in the cafeteria, do hw (no talking, only one trip to bathroom)

any other schools have something like this?

Yes, my school does, but it's worse. I'm cool with it if I have to go to school to do homework, you get it done anyway, right? Better than procrastinating. My school has monthly Saturday detentions from 9 - 12. The Dean assigns you to do something (clean ceramic tables, clean overheads, pick oranges from the school trees, wash the Dean's car) to do for three hours, and that's what you end up doing all morning. Never had to go to one, but the stories I've heard are really bad.

^ same.
except we have to do something stupid like rake leaves or whatever, so nobody ever does it. instead, people do homework, or, in my case, jack food from the snack bar and steal stuff from the teacher supply room : )
i know people who have stolen copies of tests, teacher's stuff, and even alcohol during these. hmm goodtimes.

You guys still have saturday school? Dude, that sucks. We have no detention or saturday school, but if you're late more then 8 times in a semester then we get dropped from the class. All that petty disipline ended after middle school:)
