Save Douglass College!

<p>The Board of Governors wants to combine all the Rutgers colleges into one, thereby eliminating Douglass College, the most notable (and one of the last) public women's college left in the nation.</p>

<p>I'll stress what I said in my LiveJournal post -- single-sex education should not be mandatory for anyone. It /should/, however, be an option. Getting rid of Douglass means getting rid of that option for thousands of women. If you believe in women's education, please sign the petition and/or write a letter.</p>

<p>Yay, thanks! I'm glad people are taking the time to write letters about this. I would've called, but it was past closing hours when I found out and I'm going to be on vacation all next week. If the plan does go through, I'll be having a hissyfit via telephone upon my return. ;)</p>
