Save my life please (Forgot to take a class for UCLA)

Hi

I got accepted to UCLA as a transfer.

I was planning to take a MATH class (52 - statistics) this Summet. But NOW i realize i can't do that.

I am at risk of loosking my spot!

Help me please.

Any advice will be very appreciated.

Thank you

beny

Call them!

take it someplace else?

^ what shellbell said.

I would say your probably screwed. Most late start classes have already started and i don’t think any c.c really have a late start class this late.

Call them and see what they say but don’t hang your hope on it. They admitted you assuming you were taking the class

^^^ oooh peter is right. you cant take classes during the summer and expect to go to a UC. youre supposed to be done with all classes in Spring 2010. no if, ands or buts.

Dammit, i’m in the very same situation; I got a call from UCLA’s transfer center wanting me to register for the Transfer day event on the 15th of May but told me I wasn’t doing to well in my Stats class describing why I’m not anxious to take my folks’ to Transfer Day just yet.

They told me to call admissions at UCLA to see what they can do; at best they may be able to freeze your admission status and accept you in the Spring if you take the class this summer. Of course this is all 50/50.

ouch…

Is this for your major or the IGETC? Because, obviously, if you’ve taken another class, you don’t have to worry about Math 52 to fulfill IGETC. Taking it for your is different though…

Judging from the course title (Math 52 - Statistics?) I’m going to guess you attend SMC? If so, you might want to try retaking the assessment test (talk to a counselor or UCLA rep first, but if you decide to call UCLA, try to be discreet about it). Getting a near-perfect score dismisses you from lower math courses and right onto higher-level calculus and such. It’s hard but, hey, you can try!

smc much?
i think you should not have given up crashing for the late 8 week math 52…

good luck

wait, so does UCLA admit people without actually looking at their schedules?..

I am in a similar situation. I emailed them, and they said it would be fine because they do not usually consider summer courses when making the admission decisions. They just told me to submit the change form so they would not expect a summer transcript from me.
