Save the world, Chance the student.

Lol, what a stupid title! But since you clicked it, why not take 2 minutes to chance it? (I'm desperate!!!)

Ok, so let's get simple now.

I'm a korean student in America with E-2 Visa. (Inter. Student)
I'm a Junior in Houston High School in Germantown TN. This is one of the best schools in the STATE and the NATION. Maybe not top 10, but likely be in top 100. (public)
GPA - 3.8125 unweighed. My school doesn't provide weighed, but I have taken 7 honors and 3 AP's so far. Will take 3 AP's nest year.

Important Classes taken - AP Chem (honors too), AP US History, AP Biology (honors too), Latin I & II (Honors) , all English standards, and other things u need. Will take - AP World History, AP Physics, AP Calculus (have taken honors), and other 3 classes.

I have only taken ACT once and have not taken SAT YET.
My composite score for ACT was 32. 29 reading. 32 math. 34 reading. 33 science. 8 on writing (stupidily tried to be creative with the structure.)

I will retake ACT and WILL get 33~36 and at least 10 on essays. (Or at least assume so.)

ECA-
Violine- played for 8 years. Strings Ensemble in senior year. 3 years of memphis youth symphony.
Writing - Have written 3 novels so far. No achievements, but spend at least 7 hours a week writing novels. (Am currently writing novel for publishing. 50% chance of publishing)
Martial Arts- Taekwondo. At least 5 years. Black Belt.
Church Activities - Mechanical Settings and Music was mostly done by me. Transportation of equipments. Serving foods & cleaning afterwards.
Guitar- Self teaching. Just started 2 months ago.
Video game - does it count? hours... hours... hours... lol!
Pride Club- Dance Crew
7th Place in West TN Teacher's Association's Math Competition for Algebra II.

Schools I'm Thinking about

Caltech, MIT (reach, I know...)
Georgia Tech
Verginia University.

Currently, I do not have the greencard and therefore can't apply for federal financial aid. Since my bro's already in college paying 'full', it's hard for me to attend expensive colleges without scholarships or aids. If possible, Could you guess what kind of scholarships I would be able to get for above schools and other universities that I would be able to go with part or Full? I'm going to major in Mechanical Engineering.

Gosh, I should give you a medal or something for reading all this... THANKS!

CalTech and MIT are definite reaches. Certainly not impossible though, you have good stats.

I don’t know too much about the other two though, so… Beyond that no comment.

And of course video games don’t count as an EC! I wish!

you’ll probably get into Ga. Tech, and you already know Caltech and MIT are probably doubtful.

Bump. I was really hoping someone would come up with few colleges that I may get in with full or partial scholarships.

nobody? 10char
