Good luck to everyone taking AP tests! Something you may or may not know: if you plan on getting your grades by phone in early July, and you don't provide your social security number on your test, you will need your AP number (on the label in your student pack) to receive your scores. Most of you probably know this, but last year I didn't and I threw away my pack, and didn't have my number.

What happens if I don't have a social security number and I accidentally forget to save my student pack?

If you call the college board people (their numbers on the website) and you give them your name and some other ID stuff, they will tell you your number. Of course, the day I needed mine was a Saturday and they weren't there, so I had to wait a couple of days. Also, if you're not impatient, you could just wait two or three weeks and get the grades in the mail.

After the exam, do you automatically get your student pack back?

Well, for the first test they give it to you so you can put one of the labels on the test. Then tell you to save it if you have any other AP tests, so basically in your possession after that.

My school keeps the student packs until after the 2 week AP period to maintain security of the AP. This makes sense since we fill out the bubble sheets and then put on the labels right before the test, that makes for ample time to jot down last minute stuff to look over during the break which is a illegal. I thought every school does this. But yes, save your AP student packet just incase you need to cancel scores, etc.

When do you normally receive scores in the mail? Is it really two to three weeks after they're available on the phone?

^^ yes, it is.
