Say a prayer: 'body found in Albemarle'

State Police Confirm: Body Found In Albemarle - NBC29

OK here goes…

Lord thank you for returning Morgan to her family. I hope that they are comforted by the knowledge that she rests in your warm embrace.

Please let the police find her killer quickly so they may hang him from the nearest tree.
Amen.

Well said, vistany, Amen.

It’s going to be a sad day if this ends up to be her. What’s even scarier, is that I doubt they’ll ever really find out what happened. While I hate to say this, something sounds fishy on her end. But at the same time, it sounds like she may have been the wrong person in the wrong place at the wrong time, and whatever her actions, by chance, led her astray. We all make dumb moves sometimes and move on. She was just being a typical college student but she didn’t luck out. I feel terrible for the parents because they have no control over any of this and it must hurt more than anything.

I hope her parents find comfort in whatever the outcome is, and I hope justice is served.

A sad but not surprising outcome. I’m sure the family is relieved to have the final answer to her whereabouts. Sometimes these cases are not solved for decades but people who do this sort of thing often do it again. Tha’s how they finally caught Bundy and a number of other similar killers.

So incredibly sad. I just watched tearfully as her parents gave their press conference on that bridge where she was last seen. I just hope and pray that the authorities can use the best investigative methods possible to find her killer- soon. It gives me chills to think that this is a local person (as they alluded to in the pc) and as barrons said, has the ability to do it again. What a monster.

powderpuff, all of you dear kids who frequent this forum, talk to each other. Without creating paranoia, cause your friends to think about safety. Realize that you are not invincible. Do not run or exercise alone. Lock your doors when driving. Be extra safe at night. Unfortunately you cannot be “carefree co-eds”, not in today’s world. Take care of yourselves.

God bless that poor family.

Your words are so thoughtful and poignant KandKsmom.
I will adhere to your advice. We (female students) are all very spooked realizing that there may well be a horrible situation in CVL.
Of course, this happens everywhere, not just CVL. Everyone has to be cautious unless one is truly on an isolated island somewhere.
I won’t walk alone, and I’m tending to study more in my apt. (even though I don’t like to-I like the library). Us girls are hanging together.
So sad.

If I understand you correctly you are saying that people (girls in particular) have to live as if they are in jail so murderers can walk the street?

That is so wrong on so many levels, but you are doing the right thing.

Another murder of a young female UVa grad in her apartment recently concluded with two convictions.

Out of respect to Morgan Harrington’s loss, and for her loving parents who are taking this public so as to prevent further acts, let us not let this thread devolve on the basis of WuTung’s ill-thought out comments. I, like others are mindful of these beautiful words at this time of grief for the Harringtons, and the UVA, VT community…

“To every thing there is a season, and time to every purpose under the heaven:A time to be born, and a time to die;…a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

RIP, Morgan, your time came too early in life.

Giveherwingsmom, I going to disagree with you. Your words are inspiring but I can’t think of a better way to honor Morgan than to see to it that people are better able to avoid similar crimes.

I don’t think guns and knives are the answer for girls unless they are highly trained. It would be too easy to over power a girl and use her weapon against her. OTOH a nice size can of pepper spray in your coat pocket and staying in groups couldn’t hurt. One nice shot in the perps face would give a person a chance to run away.

… people should not be so hands off. Nearly everyone has a camera in their cell phone and 911 is easy to call. We have an obligation to try to protect each other. If we don’t people like powder will become more afraid to go out and eventually we will attend class via satelite.

Shouldn’t there be more visible security around the Arena? Especially for events like a concert. Where were the cops? Who’s responsible?

From vistany: “If we don’t people like powder will become more afraid to go out and eventually we will attend class via satelite.”

Hey vistany! You made me spit out my Iced Tea with this comment! Thanks for the laugh and concern! Man, satellite classes could be sweet! Thanks for covering my back.

In all seriousness, I support Giveherwingsmom’s theme in saying: God bless Morgan, Rest in Peace sweet girl, I pray there is swift justice.
