saying "i'll major in econ" with good math scores?

i applied for cornell ED with major "economics".
However, my CR is very low and math is 800. sat2 math is also 800. i got 7 in ib HL math.
i got rec. from math teacher. I wrote extended essay in math. I have so many math awards.

And!

I connected my math ability to econ. saying that in supplement essay.
with the anecdote of how i overcame difficulty with math in the childhood, I talked about how I found so interesting that my favorite math can be applied to real-life just as economcis. I said econ used math so much to analyze the real world, so with my good mathematical ability, I did well in econ and want to study more in Cornell.

Does it sound convincing to you???????????????????????????
Does my application sound suitable for a student who wants to study economics?

yes its quite convincing

sounds reasonable to me. it's an application of math.
are you going to want to take further advanced math courses? even if you do, fortunately math and econ are both in arts and sciences.

my one question is: how do you write an extended essay IN math??

we wrote almost the same essay

hahahaa o man...
i read the same post on a korean u-hak website
