SBCC kids in a UCSB fraternity

I'm going to SBCC in the fall of 2014, and I've always been interested in going greek. From my research it looks like SBCC kids can't "officially" join UCSB frats, but they can be an inactive member until they transfer. Does ATO do this? They seem to have an alumni network that could play to my advantage.

I have a couple more questions if you don't mind.

If I join a frat as an SBCC student would I have to go through my pledge process as a junior when I transfer or do I do that as an SBCC freshman? Can I live at a frat house before I transfer to UCSB?

Are fraternity parties on par with the D.P. parties or do they not even compare?
