Is it true that the city college students can live in the UCSB on campus dorms? If so, are there certain dorms that they can or can't live in and would they be placed in a room with other city college students or UCSB students?

No, it is not true.

Dorms are reserved for full time UCSB students.

I hope that's true. I know a girl in my town that got to live in Anacapa 2 years ago who was a sbcc student. There are a lot of kids who didn't get accepted to UCSB(or probably any UC) who are going to sbcc next year that I wouldn't enjoy living near.

I lived in Anacapa two years ago, and I can't say I know of anyone there that was an sbcc student. To my knowledge though, dorms are reserved for full time ucsb students when I talked with housing. You could call them though and get it straight from the horses mouth just to be sure.

Some of the privately owned UCSB affiliated "dorms" like Fontainbleu and Tropicana Gardens accepted SBCC students.

what are the privately owned dorms like compared to the UCSB ones socially? does everyone party as much there or is it a bit more subdued?

I hear they are quieter. Fontainebleu has a ban on alcohol for everyone, while Tropicana Garden is the same as the UCSB dorms (alcohol allowed if you're 21 and over).

Hi i am considering sbcc now, cuz i dont think i will get accepted into ucsb. I was wondering if the housing there is guaranteed n if tropicana garden or fountainbleu is better?

tropicana gardens is not guarenteed. i just sent my application late, they said they will probably let me know if I am in on april 15. I have no idea which one is better, but I think I heard that fountain iss alot louder.

hello there, I was wondering if any of you have tips for picking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, (ect.) choice residence halls? I’m about to fill out the prefs form and I want to know as much about them as possible. which one is the loudest, the most sanitary or spacious?

(for UCSB)

why would you want to?
They’re like 15 miles away from SBCC.

So you can live along with the UCSB community in Isla Vista. There’s an express bus that shuttles students from Isla Vista to SBCC.
