SC announced today two more Fulbright Scholarships have been awarded to SC students. The total is now at 15! Names will be added in June, so there may be additional recipients.
Other prestigious scholarships awarded this year are Rhodes Scholar, Marshall Scholar, two Goldwater Scholars in addition to the 15 Fulbright Scholars.
Faculty at SC have won numerous honors. Guggenheim Fellowships have been awarded to 32 faculty members.

Thanks for keeping us updated, GG. If you know, are these numbers typical for SC, or is there an upward trend in honors?

It is an upward trend. We have had Rhodes Scholars, but the Fulbright numbers are definitely on an upward trend. We had 22 finalists this year. Another group will be named in June.
There are only 40 Marshall Scholars each year. Last year Harvard had 1, MIT 1, Penn 1 Amherst 1 and Brown 1 among others. Having 1 Marshall Scholar is a great honor when one thinks about the numbers of colleges in the U.S.
It is difficult to find current numbers for Fulbright Scholars since all have not been announced. I only have three numbers from college websites: St. John's Univ. 2, DePauw 4 and Ohio State 4.
Another positive trend is the number of honors received by the SC faculty. The Guggenheim Fellowships are only part of a long list of faculty achievements.
