SCA Critical Studies Help!

Hey guys, I'm applying for Critical Studies as my second choice major and I'm stuck at the writing sample! Here are the instructions given on the site:

"The writing sample should be a review or analysis of some aspect of film, television, or new media; a discussion or application of critical theory; or a published article."

I initially wanted to do a film review but after reading this again, I don't know if that's allowed anymore. What do they mean by a review of some aspect of film?

Also, I have some articles that were published in the local and my campus paper but they're all about beauty, fashion and music. When they say "published article", do they mean that I can just use one of those?

Thanks so much!

In my school’s AP US History course there was an american history movie review assignment, which is what one of my friends used for her application to CS (she got in). I used the same assignment but I talked about a TV show instead of a movie.

You could probably use one of those published articles but they may prefer something film related. I have no idea though. But you’re on the right track.

Oh! Yay! Thank you so much for this! :D

all SCA applications were due December 1st
