All candidates will be informed via email on April 1st whether they have been selected, declined, or placed on a waitlist for SCA National Crews.
This looks like a very fulfilling way to spend the summer. How competitive is admission?
They say competitive. But they also started charging $500 this year (? or maybe very very recently if not this year?) when it was free before. So I don’t know how that affected applications. I guess we’ll know if she gets rejected

Ugh. Anyone know whether people actually get off the waitlist in decent numbers? Like, more than a couple? We have a summer to figure out. This did not help!

Got an email today saying that the program was much more competitive this year and they’re finishing up drawing off the waitlist. Has anyone gotten off the waitlist?
Hey guys! I was waitlisted last year and got off the waitlist about a month away from the crew I was placed in. (I didn’t get to go though because I had already made other plans).
Fortunately I was placed this year in a frontcountry Forest crew in Louisiana! If anyone knows anyone who did the SCA National Crew, please let me know because I’m not 100% sure what to expect.
Would anyone who attended an SCA program this summer please let us know how it was, where you were placed, were you selected immediately or off the waitlist, etc? Trying to decide if we want to go in this direction again next summer.
