SCAD Financial Aid

Hello,

I was wondering how generous SCAD's financial aid package is. Does anyone know how they allocate scholarships and other aid to transfer students?

What kind of GPA/standardized scores they look at for the Poetter scholarship? What about the Larkin scholarship (portfolio pieces, etc)?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I was shocked to see they value GPA and EC’s for financial aid over portfolio. And need based aid, of course, triumphs both. You can get up to an 18k+ a year scholarship from just your GPA, but it appears the maximum scholarship for a portfolio is a measly 5k a year (2500 a term).

I received the artistic honors scholarship but my GPA sucks and my EFC is too high. A friend of mine got accepted without the artistic honors scholarship but he received 25k a year in gift aid as opposed to my 5k D:.

This information is false.

Academic and artistic scholarships are applied at the same rates. There are full scholarships as well as academic and artistic scholarships for $1500 to $15,000 per year.

[SCAD > Admission > Scholarships and Grants for Entering Undergraduate Students](http://www.scad.edu/admission/cost-financial-aid/financial-aid/scholarships/undergraduate.cfm)

If you received a “reduced” amount, then perhaps you did not qualify more because your parents make too much money? Needs-based academic or artistic awards are “affected” at the same rate.
