i know ucsc is gay-friendly but i will be in oakes and he will be in stevenson

were not all feminine but we dont watch baseball or soccer nor listen to 50 cent or eminem
will we have trouble fitting in? im really worried we'll be out of place :(
please i'm looking for honest advice
thanks

Are you serious? Just go and enjoy your college experience. Everyone will be new just like you and are looking to make friends. I’m a nut and I never had a hard time finding my “people”.

I would say UCSC is very gay friendly and your sexual orientation will never be an issue.

In terms of living at Oakes and “listening to hip hop”, I think you should just drop any preconceived stereotypes you have the moment you set foot on campus next fall. If you do that, you will be 100%.

I know college is scary and exciting, but just go with an open mind and I think you will find your place on campus.

Oakes is all about diversity. That doesn’t just include racial diversity. My friend lives in the Queer-friendly building at Oakes and she loves it. If anyone gives you crap about being bisexual, there will be a lot of people ready to defend you. We’re all about love here, no worries :)
