Is anyone freaked out about the economic crisis? Especially those of us who are about to graduate from college...also I want some input from people who are outside the US, like how it is affecting their countries

Right now, we're scared as hell. Seems like we'll go down even deeper than the latest Asian economic crisis back in the late 1990's.

I would not have thought that it affects my country (Germany) so much, but it does. E.g. I lost my job at an investment company...I mean I was just an auxiliary but still...

Do you think the economic crisis will affect colleges' decisions concerning finAid for international students?

yeah thats what I am really worried about...and my assumption is yes...it would, a lot of schools are losing a significant part of their endowment. Most promise to be commited to financial aid but they would consider US students as the first priority which makes sense

Here's proof: Middlebury college, touted as one of America's most diversified and well-reputed LAC, has gone from being need-blind to need-aware for international students. It has even started charging application fees. Pretty bad stuff.

^dude I am more worried about financial aid for my final year

Why should that be a problem? :S Colleges set aside amounts for the whole 4yrs when awarding financial aid upon admission, or so I've heard.

of course they would give me aid...my worry is how much...Also some schools have started posting in their website that they would be increasing tuition which is normal...but schools rarely post such information on their website

The grant depends on need. Loans and on-campus employment are fixed. Which college are we talking about here, btw?
