Scared (blank-less)

Considering the results in the Columbia/Dartmouth forums so far, I am wicked scared now...

kids w/ great 'stats' arent getting in as one might expect... ah now I'm terrified of whats gonna happen to us...

nervous as well, but life is life. i guess we will find out soon :-/

yeah....I am nervous, too. But I suppose we all are. (And bear in mind that "stats" aren't everything....none of those kids posted their essays, recs, and other vital info.)

My heart was pounding all afternoon after reading the columbia threads. I am soo going to have a heart attack.

Yeah, I noticed people getting into Columbia with high 1300s to mid 1400s, and kids with 1500s getting rejected. I think this just shows that adcoms really do look at the entire package.

I want my decision. Now.

I Know!!! Omg.. Columbia And Dartmouth Ed Scares Me!

That actually reaffirmed what I've been thinking all along, c_j, and I'm glad because lately I'd found myself too concerned with numerical stats. But remember guys, our school has a slightly higher acceptance rate (well...maybe) and rejects fewer people. Keep your heads up, guys! We can do this...

Don't give up hope yet princetoners! I felt shocked after reading about columbia...my mind cannot wrap itself around the fact the daily posters were the ones rejected/defferred

Yeah...the Columbia CC Board got massacred. Crazy.

i know, i feel bad for the columbia kids.... hope better things come the p-ton boards' way!

it sucks when I can't go I understand, because I'm just a junior and I don't. But the CCers on the columbia board are my friends, and I feel hopeless, like there is nothing on this darned Earth I can do to ease their sufferring. I feel like I'm watching someone get shot in slow motion- I see it coming, but I can't save them

Celebrian--it's tough to watch so many people undergo that, but don't forget that they have great options in front of them. If Columbia doesn't take them (or you, next year), or if Princeton doesn't take me, it's a big setback---but it's not an unconquerable one. Because the Columbia appliants are talented and worked hard in HS, they still have incredible opportunities before them that will be open. Though it may seem unlikely right now, there might even come a time when those who were rejected look back on this and realize that the school they attended was a better match. It's happened to several people I know.

Celebrian, I have been a lurker on the Columbia board because it is my second choice and that's exactly how I felt last night when I looked at the board. But I am sure those kids would bounce back in a few days and will soon start saying "Columbia sucks".
