Scared my acceptance might get rescinded

Hi everyone

This is my first time on this site and I actually made an account because of this issue.

My dad passed away in March of 2016 and at that time I was in my senior year of high school. I ended up missing a lot of school and decided with my guidance counselor that it would be best to drop my AP and Honors classes and take online courses as they were less rigorous and I was dealing with severe anxiety and depression at the time. I ended up graduating a year late, and did not know I was to inform my university that I dropped these courses. The dropped courses were still listed on the common application when I submitted it, and after seeing my acceptance letter and reviewing my common app and transcript from then, I realized there could be some conflict between what the college was expecting and what they would receive at the end of the year.

I immediately emailed the admissions office but don’t expect to hear back from them until Monday.

Do you think I will get my acceptance revoked for this?

By the way I know this is probably hard to understand because Im typing it while I’m nervous AF, but any comments or opinions are appreciated.

Reach out to the guidance counselor and explain this. It’s likely that the admissions office will call the guidance counselor before doing anything else in order to get confirmation on your story.

Update just incase anyone may get some help from this.

I heard back from the school today and they said the acceptance decision would not be impacted in any way as this was out of my control and my schedule was rigorous throughout high school.

Pretty sweet I guess. I’m officially a medical biology/pre-med student!!

Probably a lot more questions to come as I am a first generation college student and honestly have no idea where to start.

Great news - very happy to hear.
