Hey guys. So when I was in high school, I took a few courses at a community college, which means I need to send them an official transcript from that school. However, due to laziness and procrastination, I still haven't done it (yea, I know, that's not good). The earliest I'll be able to send them is on monday, which means there's a chance they won't get there on time (deadline is July 15). If they don't get there on time, is that grounds for UCLA withdrawing their acceptance (are they likely to do so)? Please respond ASAP!!! If it matters, I've already got in all the other paperwork, just the college transcript I need.

Go to the CC and get an unofficial copy, fax it yourself to UCLA and tell them an official copy from your CC is on the way, which you will get them to send ASAP.

Not very likely.

The only reason they want the transcript by that time is just so they have info for classes you’ve already taken or have credit for before you begin. Doesn’t really matter. But if it makes you feel better, you could go ahead and do the above.

Call them and ask on monday as you are getting the transcripts. It would have to depend on where you live too. Go to the postoffice with your transcripts, (btw get an extra official transcript), ask them when UCLA will get your mail if it was regular or rushed. Since its monday you will send them, i suggest getting it on rush anyways to have a sense of a clear mind. Have it certified or one of those special options so you will have proof that you sent it on monday. Thats what I did. MyUCLA said that they’ll call you if they did not receive your transcripts by July 15th, probably not to rescind you, just asking what happened probably. Good Luck. Keep calm.

Just answered a question like this in the UCSB forum! UCSB says they will first block your admission, only later rescinding it. I think UCLA will do the same. Block isn’t good, but it’s not the end of the world. I suggest you do what the previous replies have said.

Hm… since everyone’s saying something else, ignore my previous post.

I don’t get it though, why would UCLA rescind because you didn’t send in a CC transcript?

Well, at least I know now it’s not likely they’re going to rescind me. I was worrying about it for about one whole day.

@silvercross: I didn’t know if it was possible or likely because every time they mention transcripts or test scores, they make it sound like a life or death situation if you don’t get them in on time.

Because listing the class on your application could have been the tipping point that got you admitted. If it turns out you didn’t actually take it…
