Hi names tina and i am a incoming sophomore. Im scared because i dont know what i want to major in in college or even what college i would like to go to but my biggest fear is that i wont be able to get into a good college. my dream has always been to get into and ivy league college! i dont know why but i just always wanted to the problem is i dont think ive been taking the right courses!
heres my freshman schedule:

Frosh english
algebra 1A
Computer concepts
Intro bio
Spanish

I am in ecs but im not nationally ranked or anything im in cross country and track and field. looking at the classes i took im not so sure. For my freshman year i got a 3.5 so my question is what classes should i take or what should i do so i can at least have a chance at getting into a good college!

and my weakest subject is math so it held me back in biology cause the course i took freshman yr was way easy but i cant go any higher because of my math course! someone please give me some ADVICE

First, I would tell you to RELAX...you have three years of high school left, so make the best of it while you can. Many people don't declare a major until their second year of college, so it's a rather normal occurrence. I would advise you to take some summer math courses or do some self-learning if you are struggling with math...then you might be able to take a placement test at your high school to be able to get into a higher level like calculus. As far as your GPA goes, a 3.5 will hurt you when you apply for top schools, but freshman year GPA is usually not emphasized as much as soph and junior year GPAs; if you work hard over the next two years, you should have a decent shot at top colleges, including the Ivies. Try to take the most challenging classes that you can handle (i.e. get mostly As in) and participate in community events and volunteering activities. Most of all, enjoy yourself and just concentrate on working hard to keep your grades up and your ECs varied and interesting.

Haha thanks i know i have three years left and thanks for the advice. ive been a little worried about what career or major i wanted since every teacher or counsler asks me im like i dunno? but yeah thanks

Ivy's aren't all they're cracked up to be, I don't know how so many people have such a fascination with wanting to get into them.

To be brutally honest, you probably don't have a chance already. Why? Because NO ONE has a chance at Ivys, they are just too selective. Just take the hardest classes (APs, IBs, and honors), try and do good ECs (long term dedication = good) and I'm sure you'll be happy at whatever school you are accepted to.
