Scaredd

I'll admit it, I'm so scared about college admissions.

I looked at the Common app last night and got so confused.

How are you guys going to deal with rejection? I'm pretty sure I'll be rejected from a few ivy's, and maybe even my dream school, UVA.

Ughh, so nervous:)

Let's just say I'm pretty much jealous of the seniors this year!!!!

Me too, and I haven’t even looked at the common app yet. :frowning:
When I was a frosh and soph., i get nervous looking at college admission stuff. Now I look back and think it’s silly to get nervous because right now, it’s happening for real.
I wish I was super smart w/ a 4.0 GPA and 2400 so that i’d be more confident in this whole process >.<
So yeah…I probably just end up at Rutgers.

Aww, you guys!
The common app didn’t freak me out because I imagined I’d get into at least one of the schools, but I felt like MIT’s app was totally futile. When I first looked at it, I couldn’t even do anything; I just cried. And they sent me a little “yay, you’re applying!” thing, so I cried while I read it. And then I cried while I was writing my essays. In short, I was a mess. The futility got to me.
Pretty much everyone ends up happy, no matter how they feel on/around April 1st(for the record, I was very sad).

Don’t be scared
Make sure you have safety schools that you love. My safety school is Temple University in Japan. I’d love going there! It’d be amazing- located in Tokyo, English curriculum, great majors, etc. Maybe it’s my dream school too. Maybe I won’t apply anywhere else. Who knows. :P

Just remember that you can be happy almost wherever you go! You can get into at least one of your schools, if you place your bets safely.

I’m a Sophomore now, and I’m not that stressed out. I try to get good grades, but I’m learning because I like to learn. I play sports that I’m interested in, and I am trying new activities because I want too.

I need good grades junior and senior year. :D

Rejection in all honesty isn’t that bad. Just make that you would be completely fine with going to most, if not all, the colleges you go to. The place I’m going isn’t my top choice but I still love the school a lot so I’m still excited.

I was also terrified of my imminent rejections. When I got my rejection letters (3 of them, to be exact) I cussed out the school for 2 minutes in my head. Then I got over it and ate chocolate. And now I’m secretly glad I got rejected because that would have made my decision that much harder. :P

Well, there are 4,000+ colleges in the U.S.
Worse comes to worse, you’ll probably get into one of them.

Word of advice: steer clear of the ones that teach how to install air conditioners or how to become a medical assistant.

I’m pretty stressed out by the whole admissions deal.
