"Required to say no to about 20,000 students, Harvard's admissions officers are more than happy to find any reason to cut an applicant. Even the slightest blemisha stray grade or less-than-demanding course choicecan become a scarlet letter."

this was posted a while back, what do you guys think??

I think that is a very exaggerated statement. They accept students that don't have 4.0s, 2400/36 SAT/ACT scores, nor have discovered a cure for cancer. It's not a requirement to get into Harvard ... it helps, though.

"Harvard College, for example, offered admission to only 7.1 percent of the 27,462 high school seniors who applied — or, put another way, it rejected 93 of every 100 applicants, many with extraordinary achievements, like a perfect score on one of the SAT exams. "
