Scary Roommate Experience. Should I be worried?

I have known for quite sometime that my roommate does some crazy things in his sleep. He has said some pretty horrible things and been very upset in his sleep before. Last night I woke up at 1:30 to him standing over my bed frantically shaking me. He was shouting something incoherent and then snapped out of it and said "what time is it, about 1:30?" I said "yeah I guess" he then "said alright now I'm back in my right state of mind, I'm done" and then he just went back to his bed giggling. What the heck, my heart was pounding like crazy after that. He might be demon possessed? He has talked about killing people in his sleep before, cussed me out in his sleep, shouted for me to come over to him in his sleep, along with saying many other horrible things.

Wow, that’s actually kind of frightening, I think it would scare the cr*p outta me. Would you feel comfortable asking him about his history of sleepwalking and whether he’s ever hurt anyone in his sleep before?

Also, is there something you can say or do to make him snap out of that state?

Good luck.

He’s told me he has sleep walked before, and he told me his last roommate had mentioned similar things, but he doesn’t remember these episodes when they happen. I haven’t told him about this one either.

Maybe he has a mental illness and he needs to see a doctor ASAP.

It might just be sleepwalking, in which case it’s really creepy but unlikely to be harmful. I certainly wouldn’t want to be sharing a room with him though…
