scary statistic..how does it affect ED?

On one of cornell's statistics pages it says 9% of the incoming class is recruited athletes, and 15% is Alumni children. Are these two groups mainly in on ED or regular (because if they applyed ED that leaves just 10% of the ED pool for us non-legacy, non-crazy athletes)...does anyone have an idea?
thanks!

Note that it says incoming class (matriculants), not acceptances.

also, legacy isn't that much of a boost. Almost all of the legacies are qualified for admission. There also may be an overlap between some of the alums and athletes, etc.

i thought legacy is a boost. my parents, grandparents, great grandfather, and a bunch of aunts and uncles went to cornell. im assuming that will help me a lot lol

100%- 9% - 15% = 10%??? A little off there.

a boost yes it is, but it won't get you in if you're 1100, 3.0, white, no exceptional talents, parent didn't endow large building.

no the 15% + the 9% is subtracted from the percent accepted ED (which is around 30)

42% accepted ed...

and 15% of everyone and 9% of everyone matriculating, not of just ED...not of all acceptances.

But the percents are of total acceptances, James17...your math is way off.

no, the percents are of total matriculants

my bad, it's still way off

Don't forget that a legacy could also be an athlete, and thereby counted twice in your statistics.
