<p>I apologize for this - I know so many people have done it, but I'm super curious...
Might it be worth it to apply SCEA this year?</p>

Extracurriculars: Varsity Swimming (Captain, 3-time state champs, section finalist, 4 letters), Math Team (Captain, state runners-up, 3 letters), An extracurricular orchestra (Asst. Concertmaster, 8 years, top orchestra), Chamber Orchestra (Concertmaster, 2 letters), Knowledge Masters (Captain), Quiz Bowl (A Team), Year-round club swimming</p>

<p>Volunteer/Community service: I volunteer at a nursing home playing violin for dementia patients; it's not very many hours; perhaps 40 per year?
Summer Activities: All-State Orchestra, Lifeguard, swimming every morning (6 a.m. wuddup :P), French courses, orchestra camps
Essays: I'm a strong writer.
Teacher Recommendation: They should be very good.
Counselor Rec: Getting a new counselor, but the old one will help write it (and we had a good relationship)</p>

<p>Might it be worth it? Only you can determine this. If Princeton is your first choice, you would be a competitive candidate, with you chances probably better than the average of 7%.</p>

<p>It also sounds like you are a strong swimmer. Consider contacting the coach to see if there might be interest in recruiting you. If the coach gets on your side in the adcom, your chances would improve dramatically.</p>

<p>That’s reassuring; thanks for your response. I consider myself to be an average swimmer; I won’t be recruited. But fingers crossed for Princeton nonetheless!</p>
