Taking into consideration that Princeton and (I don't recall if it is either Yale or Harvard) got rid of their Early Programs, how many SCEA applicants to Stanford do you think applied or are going to apply this year (they have til today and tomorrow, so hurry up!)

Last year, I believe the numbers were about 4,000 applicants, and about 750 were admitted during the early round.

What do you think the admit rate for this year's early round will be? Do you think it'll be more competative???

IMO ...Given that Yale and Stanford are going to take the brunt of the
Pton, Harvard early onslaught ... I would venture at least 5500-6000 early
applicants and probably an early acceptance rate smilar to previous
years but ... a big change in Stanford's defer/reject policy....probably
a 10-20% increase in early defers

I don't know if it'd go up by 2,000. It very well might, but I think that most of those who were inclined to go early to Harvard and Princeton would choose Yale over Stanford. There's clearly a huge HYP mentality, especially in the east. I think most early applicants would rather stick to that Ivy prestige.

Or I'm hoping so at least...because less competition for me!
