SCEA Chances?

Out of curiosity, how hard do you think it will be for me to be accepted? I know it's generally a long shot to get into Harvard because it's so competitive, but I want to try...

*Operation Snowball- Committee chair this year, staff member leading participants since Soph year, focuses on healthy lifestyles and relationships for teens, also active in community service as a group
*Peer tutoring: special education group sophomore year, end of last year and this year: students who are struggling in math/english classes

*Spanish Honor Society
*Bausch & Lomb Award, given to one junior at our school for outstanding science performance
*National Merit Semifinalist (as far as I know...)

I'm just interested in what people think about my chances, or where else I should consider....I'm sure some people will say I don't have a chance, but that's ok! Thanks for reading/considering all of this!

u have a good chance... need more ECs tho, that could be ur downfall

I think not sahil...HISPANIC WITH 2380 SAT AND 35 ACT??? I give you a 50/50 chance at Harvard as long as you raise your SAT II'S to 700+ for all and write good essays.

I'm definitely going to work on the SAT II's and my essays...
ECs are harder, since it's my senior year, and I know collegese say they want depth of experience, which I certainly have with gymnastics and Snowball....but I don't have many ECs I'm joining our school's WYSE science team/club though, which should be good.

and thanks guys :) any other input would be awesome.

any other opinions? I'd love to hear them!

no no, you can't be serious.

why is that cavalier?

Great job, I DEFINITELY think you're in...2380 SAT, Hispanic, female in engineering with science accomplishments, unique gymnastics accomplishment, SCEA...no way this kid is going to be rejected. Each of those things alone isn't very special, but if you put them all together in one application then you're gold.

Solid applicant, either SCEA or RD. Hedge your bets by applying to the other Ivies as well, then accept Harvard's generous offer.

solid applicant. Do not increase your ECs. Colleges realize that gym is a large time commitment, and adding ECs now would not be impressive. I agree that you need to apply to other schools as well as Harvard, but you do have a good chance (remember that admission at HYP is a reach for everyone).

There are no guarntees, but you are prcatically almost in.

Hispanic with 2380 and interest in engineering makes you very strong candidadte.

Write good essays.

You're definitely in.

thanks for the feedback everyone! any other opinions?

bumppping!!
