yup 14 days to go! one worry soon over and another worry to come =). isn't life great? lol. woot i got my first acceptance today (state school - safety). you know julyinoh; i am seriously jealous of you lol. halo too? wow...

Hey guys I had a question about awards, I did this competition at a state university, do I include the state university's name or should i just say a state competition? I thought there might be some etiquette about not mentioning any specific colleges.

Haha... if it weren't for XC, I would be terribly out of shape. Sports stink, as well as extracurrics. As for homework... I commute between U of MN and high school , so it's a real drag. Apps just kind of get pushed way late into the night. Go runners! :D

Gratz Choboking! Glad somebody wants us (I got into my supersafe safety school, so it's all good. I don't have to apply to Stanford. NOT lol jk)

Time to avoid addictinggames.com for awhile.......

I'll only be applying to UCs, and we don't find out about those until March (right...?). I'll refrain from calling any school my safe school --> who knows these days...

There's apparently some phenomenon going around in some of the "less prestigious" liberal arts universities. They're rejected overqualified-qualified applicants because they want to get their stats up and be considered selective schools.

Hey everyone - how are you fitting all your AP scores on the application? Should we put the rest of them in the "extra info" section?

maybe i am being a little excessive, but i sent in my AP score report to them. who knows? i think the adcoms would then consider my scores since i have evidence. might solve your problem. if you are you having money issues like me, just sacrifice a dollar a day (say for lunch), and hopefully it will pay off on Dec 15th lol.

Are any of your essays somewhat emotional. Mine kind of comes across that way, and I'm afraid they're going to think I faked it because I was desperate or something.

Mine aren't that emotional. I think mine just plain suck, lol. But I supposed everyone thinks that abou theres. I'm just trying to let my voice show through in the essays, which is hard.

On the bright side, I'm finally finished writing all four essays. Now I just have to edit and revise. Wheeeeeee...

What's everyone else doing about their AP report?

EDIT: Will it even make it on time?

EDIT2: How do I even do it? I looked on APCentral and can't find anything...

Don't worry about AP scores; the Stanford admissions officer I talked to said that all your AP scores are sent on your CollegeBoard SAT score report anyways (even though we aren't aware of it).

I was wondering that myself. Thanks chillaxin!!!

just curious, but are you guys getting anyone else to edit your essays?

to revise but not to edit. i want to know if my essay makes sense to anybody besides myself.. lol..

Are you serious?? The CollegeBoard sends em with the SATs???

Yup, the associate or assistant (I forget which it was) director of admissions said so at an informational session I went to a few weeks ago.

Also, idita, I'm getting both my this year's English teacher and last year's English teacher to look over my essays and critique them, but I'm the one doing the editing.

chillaxin-are you talking about the informational sessions that stanford has after their tours? because when I went only a student talked and not anyone from admissions, so just curious!

No, I was talking about the informational session they held in Oakland. :] However, back when I went on that tour you're talking about (I think it's called Discover Stanford?), an admissions officer from the area led the talk. However, that may have been because it was during the spring when Stanford isn't actively recruiting as it is now.

Chillaxin buddy his name is iTiDa.. t before the d lol =)

*her but yeah :) haha no worries about the spelling! but "the t before the d" sounds kind of cool :P

Are you guys filling up the EC list they give you or just including a few?

I guarantee you all that Collegeboard doesn't send a copy of your AP scores with your SATs to colleges. If it did, then somebody would have found out and and CB would have eventually been sued for a bunch of corporal charges which I'm sure the organization isn't stupid enough to risk. You can choose to send your AP score report if you want but otherwise, the only people that will know your AP scores are Collegeboard AP administrators, yourself, and perhaps your high school counselor if you provided the school code on your AP tests.

Julyinoh, just write down the best AP scores in the space provided on the app and don't stress about. You should instead stress about things that Stanford says actually matter in the admissions process like essays, essays, and umm essays.;)
