SCEA Countdown Thread to December 15

^^ Yeah, I know! My girlfriend applied ED to Columbia and I am ridiculously jealous that she gets to find out 6 days before me -__-

aw  well I hope she get in!

Exactly 7 more days. 6 days, 23 hours, and 27 minutes, if you want to be exact.

/sigh.
I really need to stop spazzing out about this. Because I’m going to end up so disappointed if I end up getting rejected. And even though I’m convincing myself that I have little to no chance, there’s still a part of me that is clinging to hope.

I guess one positive side is that after decisions come out, there are only two more days of school until winter break! :D

But it’s in your name!

I’m basically in the same boat as you. I won’t be shattered if I get deferred or rejected, but there is this small part of me that keeps insisting that I’m going to get in, even though the rational part of me says statistically I won’t. :/

Story of my life.

This time next week, we’ll know.

O_O
Scary thought.
I’m calm about it, though. I’ve now sent off 7 off my 9 apps. :D

Now lets say going to Yale is going to cost your parents 50k a year compared to a state school like UT… would you feel guilty attending yale knowing what it is costing your parents?

I don’t have to worry about something like that, but my parents would probably make me pay the bulk of it anyway. I’d just go for UT because that much debt is not worth it, at least at the undergraduate level.

Omg that’s so weird, we’re applying to the same number of schools and we’ve sent the same number of apps out already. Application twins!

^
Woah.
Where are you applying? Let’s see if we have any overlapping schools (other than Yale). Haha

I bet most of you are applying to Harvard! :stuck_out_tongue:
LOL.

Pssh, no.
Yale’s actually the only Ivy I’m applying to.

I was planning on it, but I don’t know anymore. I honestly can’t see myself fitting in there… or getting in there, haha. I’m applying to Columbia and probably Brown, but the only reason other than nice FA that I would apply to Harvard would be because it’s Harvard, which is kind of a terrible reason.

Ehhh. Honestly, I can’t think about other colleges, at least until after next Wednesday at 5:30 PM…

^Same!! Other Ivies pale in comparison to Yale.

the only other ivy i’m applying to is Princeton. when I went to visit colleges on the east coast this summer I didn’t like columbia or brown. I didn’t see the others because I’m not really interested in them…but Georgetown was really nice it reminded me of Yale but in DC

^ ah, well I’m a huge city person and kind of a hipster too, so Columbia and Brown were just natural choices, haha. I’ve never visited any of them, though. I thought about Georgetown too, but their FA isn’t too great and I need a lot of it.

I love cities too that’s why I went to go visit Columbia and Brown… but I just didn’t like the vibe at those places… like everyone seemed so stressed out at Columbia and everything was cramped and it just didn’t seem very happy… and Brown… it was cold (and the middle of July)… it didn’t impress me at all, and my parents didn’t like the whole open curriculum idea.

Yale just has a great history and music program

I really wanted to see Stanford, but never got a chance. I have no idea what it’s like and I applied

WOOO people-with-hipster-interests unite. I wouldn’t call myself a hipster, but I love indie music, film photography, liberal arts degrees, flannel, art, witty banter, and boat shoes.
