SCEA - less than a month of waiting left!

Haha yeah- My teachers asked me when it was coming out and marked it in their calendars to call me at 5pm...

So what happens when I don't get accepted?

If I am accepted, I think I'm going to do an experiment and tell only one person, then see how long it takes for it to get back to me during the school day. I think that would be really interesting to see.

^lol! that's if you don't resist the urge to tell others first. lol. that one person simply won't due. ;p

It's annoying when people think you're bound to get into X University (Yale in this case) because you're one of the kids with better chances at your school. Everyone will want to know December 16 and if you don't get in, what can you say? You can't lie and say you did, and it sucks to say you didn't because then everyone's like OMG JOHN/JANE DOE DIDN'T GET INTO YALE, HE/SHE MUST NOT BE AS SMART AS I THOUGHT!

I've kept my first choice relatively secret aside from some close friends and family. Even my mother has stopped talking about it because I've been so serious about no one knowing.

The reasons listed above are half the reason I haven't told anyone, the other half being that it is a tremendously personal endeavor of mine, and don't want it "tainted" by other people.

mistofthekane, I too have an annoyance (eh, more of an exasperation for good intentions) with other people, but not for the same reasons. Even though I haven't told them what the school is, my friends have been constantly reassuring me that I'll get in, which is involuntarily causing my hopes to go up. It is not helping me brace for rejection at all.

Everyone at my school is very open about where they are applying. We think it's fun and we all know that it doesn't matter very much.

I'd be willing to bet most of the people at my school don't even know about Yale, and certainly not about early desicion. Come Dec 15th there won't be any expectations/disappointments to worry about at school. Yay!

figment42, you're lucky! :)

I think most people at my school don't really understand what it takes to get into Yale. They think it's just a 4.0 and decent SAT scores. We already have one person in (although I'm not sure about the details), so that's just making everyone else crazy.
