SCEA: Taking SAT II in Nov. is cause for deferral?

So far, I have two pretty decent SAT II scores (800 and 750) and one that is slightly lower, 740. Because some schools I'm applying to requires 3 SAT II's, I'm planning on retaking the 740 in Nov. because I think it will probably be 750+ this time.

The problem is, I'm applying Yale SCEA and I was wondering if it's possible that I get deferred when they see that the Nov. test score is not back yet and would want to wait to see that before they accept (or reject) me. I know that deferrals sometimes mean they want to see more progress on your grades or test scores, but does that mean it's something they do just in case the Nov. scores don't make it on time? (Adcom told me it's possible they don't receive it in time for EA) Even though I already have 2 good scores?

I really don't want to be deferred for something like that if I can help it since I'd rather just not retake it again.

Any ideas, advice, suggestions? Thanks!

I did the same thing as you in this last round of college applications. I had a 780 on US History and 760 on Physics, but was taking Math II for Princeton and Harvard (which I eventually got a 800 on). My scores got to Yale at a time later than I had liked (I think after they already began their reviews), and I was deferred and later rejected.

I’m not sure if I was deferred and rejected for a reason relating to this, so I don’t know what to recommend. Nevertheless, hope my situation could be more data to help you make your decision.
