Schedual problems.

Okay so.
I will be attending the University of Washington in the comming fall, and it is my goal to attend med school later on. So when i signed up for classes, i noticed that I had all the General Chemistry series waived. (since i got a 5 on the AP chem test). however, I decided to retake the last one in the series. (chem 162).

Therefore, i would skip Chem 142 and 152

however, it has come to my attention that many med schools dont allow take AP credits. at all....

so should i drop 162 and try to pick up 142 and retake the whole series? or is everything okay, seeing as i still have general chemistry in college...even though its only one quarter... (5 credits)?

I would retake the entire series for the reason you stated. Most med schools don't weigh AP courses equally with university level courses. Another option might be to take upperdivision chemistry to prove you have what it takes in that area but i think retaking would be the easier alternative.

Well, but you want to take biochem anyway, so in the case of chemistry it's not actually an extra burden per se.

well of course ill be taking organic chem next quarter....

and i plan on majoring in biochem and molecular bio....

so do you think it matters?
