im in the process of building my schedule for fall and noticed so many classes i need are offered during the exact same times. so right now i can only take 3 classes for fall:

PAM2300
PAM3100
PAM3350

(im also trying to major in inequality studies)

it seems only one course number is offered at a time; this makes me slightly worried i won't be able to graduate in time b/c classes 1.) may fill up really fast and 2.) what if i can only take 2-3 classes at a time b/c the other courses i need are offered during the same times?

does anyone have any suggestions or tips for building your schedule? are there any PAM classes that are super hard or that i should stay away from?

ive emailed the transfer adviser for PAM (human ecology) but I haven't heard back. is this normal? should i just call with a list of questions?

thanks!

i would use your time slots to fill the rest of your distribution requirements, like credits inside the college but not in your major. how many PAM classes do you need to graduate?

Okay this may be too much info but w/e, I will just post it all :)

A.I need 1 class outside my major requirements to graduate:
PAM3100 (4 cr)
= 4 credits

B. I need 5 specific PAM courses:
PAM2000 (3 cr)
PAM2030 (3 cr)
PAM2040 (4 cr)
PAM2300 (4 cr)
PAM3300 (3 cr)
= 21 credits

C. I need 1-2 additional PAM courses (3000-4000) level
= 4 credits

For the minor I need these classes:
PAM2250
ILROB6260
PAM2300 (can fulfill B)
PAM3300 (can fulfill B)
PAM3350 (can fulfill C)
PAM3370 (can fulfill C)
PAM4470 (can fulfill C)

Total credits trans: 60
Total credits for required courses: 37 (see below)
Total credits needed:97

I’m confused though, my curriculum guide says I need to take a total of 118 credits (PE waived), 43 of those must be HUMEC courses. However, based on my credit evaluation, the above classes are all I need to graduate. Do I need to take another 21 hours (118-97) of general HUMEC electives?

Sorry if this is too much, should I just call?

your major credits will count towards your humec requirement. i only need like 30 credits of HD but i still need another 13 in humec credits, but 9 must be from outside my major. so i can take say 11 class at 3 credits each in my major for 33/43 and then take 3 pam classes to fulfill the rest of the requirement. so depending on if you need humec credits outside the major, you would be almost done if you take 37 credits of pam

so do i need to take 60 credits of humec courses or just the 37?

im confused…after adding up the credits im missing on the PAM curriculum sheet, i need 37 total credits.

do i need to take an additional 23 credits of random HUMEC courses = 120?

otherwise i would just be at 97…

so take electives lol same thing with me. i only need 43, of which i now have 15 done, leaving me with not that many classes left that i need. so take stuff you want to take. you can add another minor or take the wine class or something lol

ahh okay

do the other 23 credits need to be PAM credits? or if ive filled all of the curriculum classes i can just take electives, right?

yup, as long as the rest of your distribution requirements (stats, writing, etc) are also done, you’re good to go
